Maybe the most telling thing Donald Trump said during the election was, “Look, anything I say right now, I'm not the president, everything is a suggestion, no matter what you say, it's a suggestion."

It has been said that the media took everything that Donald Trump said literally, not seriously; his supporters took what he said seriously, but not literally.

Hope

My girls are incredibly worried about the hate in this country.  They fear that a Trump presidency will fuel this hate. 

My response is that hate is nothing new.  Look at the problems we have had in the last several years with police targeting, harassing and even killing African Americans… and those events happened with an African American president!  Maybe this hate will come to the surface, and we as a country can begin to address it head on. Call me Pollyanna!
